Tai Chi for Health ( beginner class)

The traditional Yang Style Tai Chi 85 form are longer and it takes time. Many Tai Chi schools offer simplified form( 24, 42, 45) which takes less time to learn to attract students; however, students are not getting all the benefits if they are learning the simplified form which missing many important moves.

In Huan’s Tai Chi, we don’t want lose quality in order to attract students, we want to make sure the students are learning the top quality form from us without cutting the coner for you. That’s why Huan has created ©The Zhang Learning System! to make the traditional form easier to learn in a short time.

The main part of the system consists 6 Mini Forms. Each form has less than 6 moves. After you have learned the 6 forms, learning 7 or 8 more movements will help you complete the whole traditional form. We will give you details to every position includes all the transitions. Students will have better understanding of the movements than the traditional learning because 6 Mini Forms categorizes all the movements.

Description: This beginner’s class will start with warm up and Qi Kung exercise. It will then guide you through the first 2 Mini forms from Zhang system and the first set of Yang Style Tai Chi. (thirteen movements). It concentrates on Tai Chi fundamentals:

This class will get you a basic but solid understanding of starting Tai Chi. This class will concentrate on health purpose.

Qi Kung
Qi Kung is an easy to learn exercise, which combines both body movements and breathing techniques. It helps you relax and quiet your mind and body. It is a meditation in motion and consists of a series of slow graceful movements. We use Qi Kung for warm up exercise for our Tai Chi class.

Tai Chi for Martial Arts ( intermediate class)
For Intermediate Students or people wish to learn martial applications for Tai Chi, Huan will teach you how to connect the whole body together; stay in a stronger, and more powerful posture; use your whole body energy efficiently; detailed push hands skills and points of the energy for each gesture.

Description: This class is a continuation of the first class. It will concentrate on 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Zhang system mini forms and the 2nd/3rd set:
  • Energy transition
  • More detailed body positions.
  • How to make your forms more energetic and powerful
  • How to make your move along circles and curves
  • How to connect and combine you inner energy
  • How to adjust your speed and movement. How to naturally present and perform your Tai Chi
  • Basic Push hands techniques
This class will also allow students to ask martial arts related question as well as health related questions.

Tai Chi Push Hands ( intermediate class)
For Intermediate Students or people wish to learn push hands alone with martial applications for Tai Chi, Huan will teach you how to have proper push hands stance, body structure, body coordination, and development of hand listening skill.

Description: This class is a continuation of the Tai Chi for Health and Tai Chi for Martial arts.
  • Single hands horizontal push hands.
  • Single hands vertical push hands.
  • Single hands folding push hands.
  • Double hands horizontal push hands.
  • Double hands vertical push hands.
  • Double hands folding push hands.
  • Four formal hands push hands.
This class will also allow students to ask martial arts related question as well as health related questions.

Woman’s Self-defense
With more street violence and city crime, taking this class will give you confidence to walk alone on the street and have awareness of your surrounding areas. You will learn quick and easy methods without any martial arts experience. These methods are proven effectively by the Chinese Special police force which Huan’s Grandmaster Cai Feng Xiang use to be their head self-defense coach.

Description: This class gives you hands on experience with self-defense. You will practice with another classmate/instructor to get familiar with all the technics.

  • Getting your awareness of surrounding area.
  • How to take advantage before your fight.
  • How to find people’s weak points.
  • How to protect your self.
  • how to fight back.

Pa Gua Circle Walking
Pa Gua is considered as one of the four famous internal Martial arts in China. The basic practice of Pa Gua is circle walking. It's a great method of stance and movement training. Practitioners walk around the edge of a circle in different stances, facing the centre, and periodically change direction as you execute forms.Students first learn flexibility and proper body alignment through the basic exercises, then move on to more complex forms and internal power mechanics. This class is good for any elderly try to gain leg strength and balance by doing circle walking. It’s also a good class for martial arts student want learn fancy martial arts steps.

  • Warm up exercises to stretch and relax your body
  • Learning different steps such as Kuo Bu and Bai Bu.
  • Circle walking (clockwise and counterclockwise ).
  • Moving form practice

Tong Bei ( AKA Ghost Hands)
For student looking for an athletic martial art, you can try Tong Bei Class. It also called Ghost Hands because it’s fast movements. It will make you sweat but it will also help you relax your back and shoulders. Tong Bei is considered to be one of the oldest martial arts style in China. It was found as early as 500s BC. Tong Bei masters in China followed the Chinese martial art model of keeping their teachings very secretive. With super-fast multi-attack movements plus incredible long distance reach, Tong Bei stands out from all the Chinese martial arts.

Basic Kung Fu training
In Basic Kung Fu training, we teach you Chin Woo Kung Fu(Mitzhong I) which includes forms such as Tan Tui and Kung Li. They are the forms from Chin Woo Martial Arts Club which founded by Chinese hero, Hou Yuan Jia. In "The Chinese Connection" movie, Bruce Lee plays a student of Hou. Jet Lee reprised the role as Hou's student in "Fist of Legend".

Tan Tui and Kung Li are a perfect way for beginners to establish the fundamentals of a solid form in the martial arts by developing correct posture, powerful punches and kicks. The technique is simple yet very effective for self-defense.

Huan has been practicing Chin Woo form since he was 6 years old when he was taught by his father, grandmaster Zhang Lu Ping. Lu Ping learned from both Cai Hong Xiang, and legendary Martial Arts Hero, Wang Zi Ping. Huan's form has been personally critiqued and refined by Great grandmaster Cai Hong Xiang.
